Pork tenderloin with chutney of dried fruit, smashed potatoes with sour cream and scallions, asparagus, mixed peppers and mushrooms, home made rolls, pecan pie and cappuccino, double solitaire, journal reading, super Thanksgiving. How about everyone else?

What can I say, a rainy day in the cozy window seat with Grampy’s Yeasted Apple Coffee Cake. Hard to beat that.

Grampy and friends at the Bainbridge Island troll, named Pia the peacemaker.

We went to dinner at a cool place for Grampy’s birthday. Had a tall and yummy salad, chicken with fig mole, a cocktail with a spicy hot rim and a little cordial with dessert. Totally hit the spots.

Breakfast at the High Spot with Chloe. So great to see her.

We went out to a fun restaurant on Saturday and i had chicken and waffles. It was a pretty dramatic presentation and all good but the winner was the divine syrup for the waffles.

That other plate with the huge hulking whatever is dinner at home the other night. Grampy brought home an enormous zucchini from a friend’s garden and declared that was what we were having for dinner. My heart sank but i am here to tell you it was delicious. The friend included a recipe for a sauce and it was grilled. Amazing!! I wouldn’t have believed it possible had i not been here. Little gyozos accompanied.

Yesterday’s project—canning apricots for a taste of summer all year long.

I don’t want to make you jealous but Grampy is on a roll. Tonight it’s Filet Mignon with Sauce Bernaise, lemony garlicky spinach and Bruscetta. Happy 4th of July!!!

Dining at Grampy kitchen includes ground chicken meatballs with a yummy tomato sauce over cheese and spinach ravioli and tonight, smash bacon, cheese and tomato burgers with corn on the cob and asparagus. Just saying…..

There are trees like this all over Seattle, including in our yard, but this year they have really gone crazy!

This is how we are celebrating the holiday, coffee and goodies at Petit Pierre! Totally awesome.

Grampy did it again! This time amazing, spicy chicken wings and roasted veggies. Amazing!

I actually pulled myself together and made this lemon blueberry cake for Mother’s Day. Just wiped the last bit of frosting from my lips. Yum.

We wondered if the oven was going to be big enough to hold this sourdough bread that Grampy made.

This is my favorite Spring-blooming tree. It’s right outside the pool and it makes me happy every time I see it.
